Glad To See You're Back

Welcome to the Upstate South Carolina Chapter of the Defenders MC

    • The Start of the Brotherhood: The Defenders MC was born in June 2004 in Naples, Florida.  The members of the DMC are active and retired members of Law Enforcement, Military, Emergency Services and Public Safety professions; who, along with a select group of citizenry, possess the highest moral and ethical values, uncompromised integrity and time honored dedication to the preservation of truth, justice, and the American way! The Club was founded by a handful of like minded individuals with a vision of friendship and brotherhood that has grown into a national organization in only six years, and a reputation that preceeds all who wear its colors.

    • The Growing Years: The Defenders MC has grown leaps and bounds from its origins in Florida. It now encompasses twenty states, and over a thousand members. We are nearing our 50th chapter nationwide in 2012. There are chapters in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, and Utah.

    • How our chapter came to be: In early July 2010, our chapter President, Wolf, began to look at starting a local motorcycle club. A search of many different organizations ended when he found the Defenders MC organization based out of Florida. Our Vice President, Big D, had known Wolf for many years and the two began talking about the possibility of organizing a chapter and the mutual interest they had. That lead to talking around and asking a few key people about their interest in starting a chapter and it exploded from there. Many people expressed interest in Wolf's idea and that interest led to a subsequent meeting being organized at a local bike night. From there a preliminary chapter "board" was formed and then our Brothers at National were contacted about what we wanted to do. After numerous emails, phone calls, and correspondence, a meeting with Snoop, and Chubbs from the national organization was set up. The two happened to be going to North Carolina and weren't far off so they took a ride down to Anderson with two members of the Smoky Mountain chapter and we had a meet and greet lunch. Our national brothers were impressed with our ideals and the interest we had in Defenders MC so we pushed forward. The 31st Chapter of the Defenders MC was patched in on September 25th, 2010. It all started with an idea that in just a few short months became a reality and forty-four members strong.

    • Where we're going: We strive both as a local chapter, and a national organization to convey an image of integrity. We feel that our members set the standard for others to follow. All our brothers in this chapter, and nation wide represent the finest in their respective fields. We do not recruit new members. They simply come to us. We are highly selective in who is granted admission to the Defenders MC and allow only those who possess the highest moral and ethical values, uncompromised integrity and character. If you are interested in being a part of the Defenders MC, visit our contact page and email a board member for more information or visit our national website at

    • We certainly appreciate you stopping by to visit. Please feel free to use the sites multiple navigation bars to move around freely. Be sure to view the pictorial history of motorcycles used in law enforcement in the photo gallery along with the patches of South Carolina Law Enforcement. There are constant updates to the site so please check back soon. God Bless.

    • Visit the Defenders national website for valuable resources about the organization and links to the other chapter websites.

Honor Flight 2016

June 11th, 2016

The 2016 Honor Flight Memorial Ride is coming soon. Join us as we celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the D-Day invasion and the sacrifice of the thousands who lost their lives in the name of freedom. There is no better way to show your support for our WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War Veterans than by coming out to support this event. We hope to see everyone there again this year, and continue making this a huge success for the Honor Flight Organization. All proceeds go directly to funding the Honor Flight program and flying these Veterans to Washington DC to see the memorials built in their honor. The best part is that it is all free of charge for the Veterans, but as you can understand, it is quite an endeavor for Honor Flight to make this happen. We need your support. Come ride with us, come meet the veterans of these foreign wars, have a great time, and take part in a very worthy cause. We look forward to seeing you all there.

You will be missed. You had one of the biggest hearts anyone could have ever asked for. And I know you are doing more for everyone being a guardian angel now. Even though you aren't here with us in flesh I know you will still be riding with us in spirit. God bless his family, the DMC and the friends that have lost one of the greatest men I have had the privilege of meeting in my life. Ride in peace, Taz!
